About the Opportunity

Briere Production Group is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team in Burnaby, BC, on a full-time basis.

This position is responsible for the organization and timely dispatch of a small fleet of trucks, while occasionally sourcing leads with the aim to expand the unit.

The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Managing a smaller agile fleet with near-term growth aspirations of adding 40 units in Canada and the USA
• Progressively building a pipeline of customers and developing strong relationships
• Completing cross-border paperwork for ACE, ACI, PAPS, and PARS
• Ensuring on-time services are meeting customer expectations
• Assigning trips and movements in the TMS “Tailwind”
• Maximizing daily and weekly load planning through HOS Utilization
• Maintaining and running Dispatch Reports
• Communicating daily with company drivers and owner-operators
• Working within tight schedules, with daily fluctuations in volume, and being adept at improvising to assure a timely and safe delivery
• Managing drug testing program for DOT compliance
• Providing onboarding training for new team members
• Working knowledge of and adhering to all DOT Canada & USA rules and regulations
• Performing operational analysis and recommending modifications to increase effectiveness and efficiency
• Conducting themselves accordingly, as an ambassador of BPG & BTL Divisions and our company values

In order to qualify for this role, you will have 4-6 years of experience in a related role, with CND/USA cross-border experience. Previous sales experience would be a strong asset. Please note that candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

The following assets are preferred, but not required: 

• Logistics Diploma, CITT, PLOG 
• Previous experience in leading and supporting a transportation fleet team
• Fleet TMS Software: Tailwind, GEOTAB, Loadlink, DAT, BorderConnect
• Managing departmental Key Performance Indicators

Along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will possess outstanding organization skills, patience, flexibility, and multi-tasking ability.
